As a young person, I battled a lot with comparison and always thought others were better than me. Because of this, I began to develop horrible headaches when I was around 13 years old. By the time I turned 15, I experienced anxiety constantly. The only time I was free from it was when I slept or was unconscious, but it would always come back.

I later developed a fear of dying that made falling asleep hard because I thought I’d die in my sleep. There were many times I woke up in the middle of the night just to make sure I was still alive.

Around this time, I remember listening to a Pastor Joseph Prince sermon that brought a calm to my soul I had longed for, but I didn’t continue listening. It was only when I was 18 that I began constantly listening to his sermons, and after a week or two, the anxiety left me completely. It has been over 2 years since, and my anxiety has not returned!

There have been so many beautiful things that have happened ever since, and I have gotten things I don’t deserve. Knowing I am the righteousness of God in Christ and that God does not demand perfect obedience from me has brought me the biggest relief.
