When my daughter, Jobeth, was about two years old, she had a lumpy abscess growing on her right cheek. It was swollen but not painful. My wife and I were very worried. Being nurses, we knew that painless lumps have a higher risk of being cancerous.

We brought her to the doctor and were told to observe the lump to see if it grows in size over the next two weeks. In the meantime, we prayed for her healing and partook of the Holy Communion.

At the end of two weeks, the lump had grown a little bigger. The doctor advised us to have the lump surgically removed and a specimen sent to the laboratory for testing. After some discussion, my wife and I decided to wait another two weeks before deciding on excising the lump.

We continued partaking of the Holy Communion, praying in the Spirit, and believing that Jesus would heal Jobeth without her having to undergo surgery. We held on to Hebrews 10:23—“hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” We trusted God, believing that He is faithful and that by Jesus’ stripes our daughter was healed.

A week after partaking of the Holy Communion and claiming the Lord’s healing in faith, we noticed that the lump had become smaller. It showed signs of redness and infection. My daughter also had a fever and felt discomfort with the lump.

We saw all those symptoms as good signs as they meant that the lump was unlikely to be cancerous. We gave her some medication syrup to relieve her fever and discomfort while continuing with the Holy Communion.

Lo and behold, a few days later, we came home from work and found her brother running toward us, shouting excitedly that Jobeth had no more swelling on her right cheek! We took a closer look and truly the lump was completely gone! Needless to say, we were overjoyed.

We believe a miracle had happened. My daughter was healed! All glory to Jesus!

Since then, Jobeth has become a strong believer in the Holy Communion. Whenever someone is unwell, she will be the first to recommend the Communion for healing. God has been so good and real in my little girl’s life. Shalom!
