When I was in high school, one of my teachers recommended that my parents test me for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The doctor diagnosed me with ADHD at age 15, and as a result, I began taking a daily dose of Adderall medication for mental focus. I continued taking the medication for the next 24 years.

During the latter portion of those 24 years, I began to listen to Pastor Prince’s messages about reigning in life and realized the Lord didn’t want me to remain dependent on Adderall for mental focus. I began to ask the Lord to help me get off the medication and would regularly confess that “I am the righteousness of God in Christ” and “as Jesus is, so am I.”

After continuing to do this for a few months, my desire to take the medication began to decrease, and in consultation with my doctor, I started to reduce my daily dosage. This incremental dosage reduction continued over the next few years until the Lord completely eliminated my dependency on the medication. Once finally free, I dropped off the remaining pills at a local drug store and have now been off Adderall for over a year. I have never felt better!
