My family and I live in Arizona where we would come across scorpions from time to time. Recently, due to some construction work nearby, we started seeing more scorpions in our yard and even inside our home.

I asked the Lord to remove every one of them from our path, but continued to see them. I was even stung by one in summer. Thankfully, I listen to Pastor Prince’s sermons on a daily basis, sometimes listening to the same sermon two or three times a day. As a result, I know Jesus is for me and not against me and I could turn to Him whenever I spotted the scorpions instead of succumbing to the fear of being stung.

While my son and I were in the kitchen one night, I felt a familiar pain in my foot and instantly I knew a scorpion had stung me. Sure enough, I looked down and spotted a scorpion scurrying away. We crushed the scorpion but I felt the intensity of the pain growing. I then remembered the last time I had been stung—it was a sleepless night as the pain felt like sharp needles piercing through the bottom of my foot.

So I ran to Jesus in prayer and asked Him to help me out of this predicament. The Lord reminded me that He has already redeemed me from the effects of the scorpion venom. By faith, I declared to my foot, “Be well in Jesus’ name. Jesus had paid a hefty price on the cross so I can reign in life through Him. Jesus’ resurrection life and supernatural divine health flow in me so the scorpion’s poison has no effect on me.”

I thanked the Lord for His healing and redemption and instantly, the sharp pain subsided! By evening, I felt no more pain and even slept well through the night. What an amazing Savior we have! What was meant for harm turned into an amazing testimony of the Lord’s love and how He led me to take possession of my inheritance in Christ. Indeed, Galatians 3:13–14 says we are no longer under the curse but under God’s blessings!
